Biodiversity and plenty of landscapes and natural resources, capable of satisfying all kinds of tastes, needs and hobbies. The province has two Biosphere Reserves, declared by UNESCO: Monfragüe National Park, where the Extremadura Birdwatching Fair is held every year, and the International Tagus  Natural Park.  

In addition, the UNESCO GlobalGeopark Villuercas-Ibores-Jara is in Cáceres, with its Appalachian relief. There are nature reserves such as the Garganta de los Infiernos gorge, the Natural Monument of the Cueva del Castañar or Los Barruecosprotected landscapes such as Valcorchero and the Sierra del Gordo and Special Protection Areas for Birds (SPA) make the province a natural paradise. 

Water, in all its versions: Extremadura is home to 27% of Spain’s water reserves. It is the region with the most kilometres of inland coastline, with up to 40 bathing areas.

In the north of the province of Cáceres there are numerous gorges, waterfalls and natural pools that are a feast for the eyes. In the more central area, there are larger marshes and reservoirs, which make it possible to practice water sports (diving, canoeing, windsurfing, water skiing, etc.). 

Historical heritage: From Renaissance cathedrals to Berber fortresses, from Gothic monasteries to Roman amphitheatres. Many peoples and civilizations have occupied the province of Cáceres throughout history, leaving in their wake many vestiges and sites where to lose oneself. Some of the oldest known cave paintings are in Cáceres, in the Cueva de Maltraviesocave. 

Cultural heritage: The province of Cáceres has 27 festivals declared of Regional Tourist Interest. Los Empalaos, El Chíviri, La Encamisá, Los Negritos de San Blas or El Peropalo are some of the unmissable events that make the municipalities of Cáceres even more special. 

Festivals of National Tourist Interest, such as the Magic Autumn in the Ambroz Valley, the Cherry Blossom in the Jerte Valley, Jarramplas in Piornal and Las Carantoñas in Acehúche become the focal point for tourists and visitors who love culture and beauty.  

But this is not all. Cáceres, capital city of the province, has a Festival of International Tourist Interest: its Holy Week, in Easter. Marked by tradition and its medieval character, every year thousands of visitors respond to the call of the liturgical festivity of Cáceres, famous worldwide.

But the province of Cáceres is not all about tradition. It is a favourite destination for those in search of the avant-garde through conceptual art, in two of its most outstanding museums for modernism: the Vostell Malpartida Museum and the Helga de Alvear Museum of Contemporary Art, which places the city of Cáceres on the international museum map. 

The cost of living in the province of Cáceres is significantly lower than in other autonomous communities. Indicators such as the price of renting a house or Property Tax are cheaper in this province than in the rest of Spain.  

Tranquillity and security. It is the region with the lowest crime rate in the country, according to the Ministry of Interior, and with lower population density, making it a perfect place to relax and disconnect from the madding crowd.

Gastronomy in the area, with products with Protected Designation of Origin, such as cheese, honey, paprika, oil, wine or ham; Protected Geographical Indications such as ‘Veal of Extremadura’ and ‘Lamb of Extremadura’ and others that, without having these recognitions, are of unbeatable quality, whether they are fruits or vegetables, sausages, wines, cavas or craft beers. 

Astronomical destination: The skies of the province of Cáceres are considered among the best in Europe, with 200 nights for observation per year. It has seven privileged vantage points, a new network of celestial viewpoints and four ‘Open Sky’ enclaves. 

Strategic location of the province due to its proximity to Portugal, and the proximity to cities such as Madrid, Seville or Salamanca.  

Weather: The province of Cáceres is in the region with most hours of sunshine in Spain, over 3,000 hours of sunshine per year. This, together with the fact that the region has a lower rate of pollution and environmental problems, will make your stay extremely pleasant. 

Good health care with hospitals in the main cities, a large network of health centres and outpatient facilities in all towns.
